Western Suffolk BOCES

The Aviation Maintenance Technology Program at Western Suffolk BOCES is an FAA approved program that provides both the hands-on experience and the training necessary to service, repair and overhaul reciprocating and turbine engines and components, powerplant control systems, instrumentation, and induction and exhaust systems. This program is endorsed by the Federal Aviation Administration and is an approved Federal Aviation Regulation School (FAR147).

For more than 35 years, the BOCES AMT program located at Wilson Technological Center´s Republic Airport campus has prepared students to become FAA certified Airframe and Powerplant technicians. Certified aircraft technicians will find good salaries, excellent benefits and personal satisfaction in this exciting field. Our Farmingdale, NY facility offers small classes, state-of-the-art equipment and highly skilled and experienced instructors.

Three curriculum areas help students prepare to take the FAA Airframe and Powerplant Maintenance exams that lead successful completers to FAA licenses. Semesters begin May, Sept. and Jan. Financial aid/payment plan is available to those who qualify. VA benefits accepted. Accept transfer credits for work successfully competed in other FAA-approved programs. Up to 60 credits transferable for AS/BS degree nationwide. Military DD214s reviewed. Also offer Designated Mechanic exam.
