About
Our Aviation Science program at Portland Community College provides hands-on pilot training to ensure you’re up and flying right away with the right stuff. Serving the greater Portland area, our program focuses on providing you with practical learning to get you started in an aviation career. You will have the opportunity to earn a commercial airplane pilot certificate or a commercial helicopter pilot certificate while also earning an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Aviation Science.
Instruction is provided by our industry partner, Hillsboro Aviation, Inc., at the Hillsboro Airport and Troutdale Airport locations.
Aviation Science Degrees and Certificates
Associate of Applied Science Degree:
- Aviation Science Airplane
- Aviation Science Helicopter
The Aviation Science AAS degree program, including the flight training fees, is covered under the Post-911 GI Bill for qualified Veterans.
PCC’s Aviation Science program, in contrast to similar programs, provides quick entry into an often daunting field. Our hands-on training allows you to become a professional helicopter or airplane pilot, enabling you to begin a career as soon as you complete the degree.
In PCC’s Aviation Maintenance Technology program, we offer you the opportunity to enter an exciting field in less than two years, providing you with the skills you need to enter a robust industry that relies on high-quality technicians.
