College of New Caledonia
Vanderhoof, British Columbia
About
The College operates an Aviation Business Diploma program in conjunction with Guardian Aerospace Holdings Inc, a Canadian licensed flight training unit and CAR 703 air taxi operator. The diploma is granted on completion of the Private and Commercial Pilot licenses and a float rating with total float time of 40 hours as well as 12 university level business courses and one aboriginal studies course.
The program operates as PilotPlus and its curriculum and entire approach is designed to provide highly trained single engine VFR pilots for entry level pilot in command positions with Canada´s northern air carriers and with similar air taxi companies operating in difficult conditions around the world. The Plus offered to employers is a detailed knowledge of the business environment of small carriers, as well as capacity to act in a functional management role with those carriers when not contributing as a pilot.
This is a program that allows students to train within the daily operations of a 703 carrier and to carry out most commercial training operations in simulated air taxi conditions. Guardian´s Chief Flying Instructor and the College´s Program Coordinator are both ATPL holders and have over 15,000 hours of small carrier pilot in command time.
Details of the program can be found on the website. Applications are always being taken for the next and future year courses.
We welcome international students and especially those who have reciprocal arrangements for foreign licence conversions, which are most countries in the world excepting the European Union JAR countries.
