Abyssinian Flight School

Probably one of the biggest achievements of the past twelve years of Abyssinian Flight Service existence is our establishing the first and only private Pilot Training school in Ethiopia. We have trained and graduated several pilots with PPL (Private Pilot License) CPL (Commercial Pilot License) Instrument Rating and Mulit Engine.

Currently we operate 2 Thielert engine equipped Cessna 172, 1 Diamond DA40 single engine aircraft and 1 Diamond Aircraft DA42 twin engine aircraft equipped with the same type of engine in our flight training school. What makes these aircraft special is the fact that they operate on the less expensive and readily available Jet A1 fuel while consuming less than 50% compared to the same size Avgas engines.

Recently we added DIA Austro engine equipped Twin Diamond DA42NG aircraft to our fleet for use in multi-engine training. The state-of-the-art Garmin G1000 DA42NG and its single engine siblings are all fully equipped with the latest instrumentation to train our student pilots to the highest standards of professionalism.

In 2006 Abyssinian Flight Services established the first private pilot training school in Ethiopia, Since then the school has graduated a number of pilots.

The school is authorized by Ethiopian Civil Aviation Authority (ECAA) to train pilots for the following License and Ratings:

• Private Pilot License
• Commercial Pilot License
• Instrument Rating
• Multi-engine Rating
