About

Quincy University´s Aviation program offers the technology, the experiences, and the professional instruction that will put you in an elite group with the credentials to make a living as a pilot. You will not only learn to fly single-engine aircraft, but you will also have the opportunity to further your aviation experience in high performance, complex, and multi-engine aircraft.

You´ll study in one of the most thorough FAA-141 approved private instructor training programs. Single-engine ratings include Private, Instrument, Commercial, and Certified Flight Instructor; multiple-engine ratings are also available. Because you´ll train on multiple types of aircraft, you´ll experience the latest technology in auto-pilot and complex GPS. You´ll benefit from onsite testing using FAA-licensed computers and an FAA designated examiner. The immediate feedback will enable you to improve rapidly and to meet ambitious goals.

It is important for pilots, especially those in the commercial airline industry who often deal with the public, to have a strong foundation in the liberal arts. A liberal arts background produces well-rounded, intelligent people with strong technical skills as well as the ability to think critically and make sound decisions. The liberal arts tradition of Quincy University provides Aviation students this high-quality learning experience.

Quincy´s Aviation and Aviation Management program offers two degree options:

  • Bachelor of Science in Aviation
  • Bachelor of Science in Aviation Management

In addition to coursework and flying experience, you can further your involvement in aviation through Quincy´s popular Aviation Club and the Hawks Flight Team. Quincy´s Aviation club is a student-run organization, that offers field trips, community service projects, and other activities designed to help you explore the world of flight. The Hawks Flight Team is an active member of the National Intercollegiate Flying Association (NIFA), an organization that sponsors competitions to improve the proficiencies of student pilots. The Hawks Flight Team spends considerable time preparing for competitions, and our student pilots are able to further improve both their flying and safety skills.
