New and progressive helicopter training

Hi-Tech Helicopters, Inc. is a new and progressive helicopter training and sales facility. We are conveniently located at Mt. Pocono Airport in the scenic Pocono Mountains of northeastern Pennsylvania. We are situated approximately 68 miles west of New York City and two hours north of Philadelphia. Hi-Tech Helicopters is owned by John E. Kerrick.

Hi-Tech offers helicopter flight training for any individual who wishes to become a private pilot as well as the individual who desires advanced ratings to seek professional employment as a helicopter pilot. Flight training is done in new 2006 Schweizer 300CBi helicopters, the safest helicopters available to date. All aircraft are owned by Hi-Tech and maintenance is of paramount concern to us and should be to the aspiring student. In addition to flight training, Hi-Tech offers sightseeing rides, aerial photography, aircraft sales and appraisals, and personalized instruction.

Financing Options

Today’s civilian trained helicopter pilot generally has two loan options. The first is private unsecured loans from lenders such as Sallie Mae, Wells Fargo, or Chase. Repayment terms can be quite flexible but interest rates are often higher than secured loans.

The second option is to coordinate one’s flight training with an associates or bachelors degree in Aviation Science or similar degree. This enables the student to procure federally subsidized loans often at a lower interest rate than private unsecured loans. This dramatically increases available lenders to the prospective student. These programs are sometimes offered through local community colleges but most popularly through online schools. The most popular school to offer this program nationwide is Utah Valley State College (UVSC).
